The Maine Traditional Archers was formed in 1998 by people with a common passion for traditional archery and the outdoors. Our events are held at the Durham Rod and Gun Club in Durham, Maine and we hold 4 shoots per year; a spring shoot, a winter shoot, a rendezvous in July and we host the Maine State Traditional Championship shoot in September. Our events are always open to the public, and we welcome anyone who shoots or who would like to shoot a traditional bow! We hope to see you at our next event.
We are an organization dedicated to keeping and spreading the passion of shooting traditional bows,
through the promotion of safe and ethical participation in the sport.

From left to right is Kayne, Bella and Bryce. We are cousins who grew up shooting with our Grandfather at this club since we could walk. Recently taking over as President and Secretary in 2024, we are excited to keep the tradition alive!

Dan Dyer is our Vice President and keeps us all in line. He is the real brains of the operation! He has been shooting traditional archery at Durham Rod and Gun for over 35 years.
Join us at our 3D shoots that take place four times a year! See dates, flyers and information for 2026 under Events and Club News.
